Mgr.
Product & Manufacturing Engineering: Functional responsibility for all product engineers and
manufacturing engineers. The
manager is responsible for applying Design to Cost (DTC) and Design for
Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) processes for all Aircraft Group
electronics products in development as well as Operations products
whether or not they are electronics. A staff of approximately 30 engineers and technicians.
Scope of the work: The Product Engineering and manufacturing Engineering
Manager will be accountable for the following:
Overall transition to production for all new products.
Transition production from one site to another for all Aircraft Group
electronics products.
Application of DFMA and DTC processes to all new development efforts.
Budgetary responsibility for
staffing, expense and capital budgets for the department. Day-to-day
leadership of the department staff to include career development,
training, assignments, recruiting and capacity planning.
Desired qualifications:
BSEE with 8 -10 years experience or MSEE with 5 to 8 years experience
Experience managing a team with hiring and budgetary responsibilities
Experience with the design, production and service of aerospace
electronics
Familiar with FAA OEM Type Certificate and FAA Repair Station

-Perform testing and diagnostic
troubleshooting of electronic equipment - -Perform
subassembly level tests and
alignments-
-Troubleshoot inoperative circuits using the appropriate test
equipment, schematic drawing and knowledge of electronics to
determine where the fault is - -
Program environmental chambers to operate at the correct temperature and
time
-Repair test fixtures when needed

| Mechanical
Design/Project engineer- Electronics Packaging |
|
Packaging the electric motor drive circuitry for control surface
actuators. The motor driver enclosures are typically machined
aluminum, brazed or screwed together. They are lightweight, high
voltage/high current, compact and thermally challenging. The layout is
driven by thermal, space, electrical and customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct the activities of designers, drafters, PCB designers and thermal
and structural analysts and manufacturing personnel--Prepare design review
material for presentation to other team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
BSME or related--10 years exp with mechanical design and project
management of complex assemblies from cradle to grave -- Familiar with
thermal and vibration analysis software; ANSYS a plus and Unigraphics NX4
CAD software experience a plus

In this position your duties will
include:
· Willingness to work overtime as needed and occasional travel
· Support generation design requirements of electronic systems
· Prepare design trade studies for area, cost, power, reliability
· Support design of Analog and Discrete I/O conditioning circuitry
· Prepare electrical schematics
· Prepare performance and stress analysis
· Prepare test procedures
· Perform circuit card checkout and validation testing
Need:
· BSEE degree
· Three to five years working with Avionic equipment is a plus
· Lab test, schematic capture and PSPICE experience is desired
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills
